pair of SONY HDR-HC3 HDV camcorders, which allow interaxial spacing from appx 2.2 inches (with left camera inverted) to almost any distance apart. Video streams are sync'ed in post production (Adobe Premiere). Cameras both upright yield a 3.5 inch interaxial distance. Cameras are sync'd with a LANC controller.

yes I am making a 3d camera. this is a typical rig you will see me using. but with dof adapters. for 35 mm lens to give it that hollywood feel. linking the dof adapters is harder then you think. and with two sony xr 500's now the 240 frames per second hd is going to be gold. I have all winter to rack my brain, and a year left in school. The school I go to is only like a year course. But because i worked so hard on my own projects. I failed almost every class I was in. oppps. now I get to do the whole thing again. The school just got a new studio and 2 Hpx 170's with m2 systems, I will for sure be hooking that up to shoot 3d as well. i am the only student that is doing such a thing. And all the other students and teachers think I am crazy. But nice to have you own 3d cameras. lol love how this pic got like 4 comments in 1 min. thx for the interest make me want to try harder. I will be trying with 2 Nikon d90s as well to shoot video and pictures. in 3d, i will be uploading 3d bike pictures soon. I can tell you how to get the glasses you will need to see the 3d on your screen, just msg me. thx matthew gorveatte

soon my friends, I need to figure more things out before i can show you all. I will make it so you will use circular polarized 3d glass, so not the blue and red ones, but the all black ones you would get a movie theater, when watching movies like avatar. If you guys see that movie, keep your glasses. plz you will need them

Haha are you making a 3D edit?

how exactly would this work when it comes to zooming, and focusing? does it still line up right? i can't picture how you would be able to do anything further than a slight pop in the image like in 3d story books with a setup like this, when you zoom in wouldn't you find the two frames to line up further apart and reduce the 3d effect?

not contradicting i'm just curious as to how well something like this would work, i played with it a bit but i couldn't make anything fit quite right.

I am expecting the most insane 3D HD teaser of all time. You got a year, make it count.

This sounds absolutely genius! are you sure polarised light will work though since the pictures will have to be produced through computer monitors?

Dude. Good thing I kept my 3D glasses from that Decline.

those are the wrong ones, I think. If they are red and blue, then they are a diff kind of 3d, I am going for a more advanced 3d the "NEW school" way. read above and you will see.

Schucks. I was looking forward to an excuse to wear those around.

lol do it man. 3d is like the most popular thing going right now. I bet ppl will ask. tell them you found a new way, actually wait a minute I can tell you something. fold the glasses in half and look thought the two of them at teh same time in bright day light. making sure you block all light hitting your eye, and you just see thought the two filters combined, now go into the bright day light, MAKE SURE YOU DONE LOOK AT THE SUN YOU WILL DESTROY YOUR EYE EVEN THO IT IS Tempting. trust me you will see what I mean. That is IR light you are seeing. lol there is a use for those old glasses.
  • 2 0
too see better ir light stack the filters on top of each other. like get another pair of 3d glasses fold in half and put them on top, the more the better. like 3 is best. bam new world for your eyes.
