Ahh.I see.Now i got thinkin i mite get something like that, cause im rigth before a knee surgery myself, and i need to recover nicely.Any ideas where can i get a c.r. like this?or is it totally custom made for him.

 That's definitely custom.

yeah its custom made for him. Unless your racing in the world cup and 0.05 seconds means everything you should be fine on a normal chainring.

He's asking for health reasons, you fool.

yeah but all it does is keep his pedaling smooth and helps him pedal more efficient since every millisecond counts for World Champs. He should be fine on a normal chainring, and there is no real reason why you would spend probably hundreds of dollars getting a special chainring made for a few months of recovery time unless your racing highly competitively.

His bad leg doesn't have to work as hard - it's better for his health.

whats goin on there? someone explain the chainring please.

He had knee surgery sometime before the race, so his one leg was less powerful then the other. this chainring keeps his pedaling more consistent. it works like the old Shimano BioPace did.

This is a custom made ring by Rotor, its different from their normal oval chainrings. check rotorbike.com. Its the next generation chainring really..

im pretty sure its called an 0 ring and is supposed to give better pedaling
  • 1 1
their called Q-rings yes, and do give better pedaling

Rotor Q-Rings are elliptical. This is not a Rotor Q-Ring, it is custom made for Fabien Barel.

 Yes, by Rotor.

Perhaps, but it is not a Q-Ring.
