COOL STORY BRO! I really think its close minded of mountainbikers to hate on the fixed gear community for no apparent reason, its people like you who made me want to branch out from the dirt jump scene, cause a lot of people have no opinions but their own.

Yeah hipsters are fags bro, i ride events and get to film spots on mine. Real fixie riders are cool, hipsters not so!

hipsters arnt even serius riders, its just a fasion item, its just ignorant to think some one who likes bright colours and wears skinnys with a fixed gear is a hipster, theres people the exact same on bmx's and DJ bikes, infact werse

tate27 i swear if ever caught someone letting my tires down, i would kill them. fixies are sick
  • 1 3
Lol. Ive never actualy done that.... It was just to show my hate for them thats all... Hipsters that is.. If you ride a fixie on a velodrome... Thats fine, but if your just a hipster with a flashy fixie It just pisses me off.

you are making this worse bro, you have a bright green bike; I have a black with orange wheels? How am I the hipster if my passion is riding a bike with out a freewheel? I have a dirt jump bike too, same as yours almost.

I can ride anything decently so why stop that with just mountainbiking?

if you think about it a real hipster is some one who follows whats cool, usualy looks over performance, every other single type of bike have riders who are vain about there bikes and cloths, spending silly amounts on stuff they dont realy need but every one at that time thinks there amazing so they look cooler with it, but f*ck it, atleest these "hipsters" are out on bikes and not in cars poluting the earth, making use of old roadbikes that will just be left to sit and rust without them, no need to be so negative to them

i like simple fast bikes and i also like playing with colour then do it in style, so i choose a bike that dose that

Fixie riders arent hipsters they are just flat out cool dudes. I ride mtb but some of my best friends ride fixies and they are awesome. I dont see why you would judge someone based on what bike they ride. After all, we are all the same in that we love to ride no matter what kind of bike we are riding.

Ok, Ill say this once, and I wont say anymore. I dont mind fixie riders. I dont like hipsters who ride a fixie because they see it as a fashion statement. If you ride a fixie because your a biker and you enjoy the hobby/lifestyle of biking, thats legit. but if your riding a fixie because you think it makes you a cooler/hipper person, I despise that.

 Amen to that.

hipsters don't see riding a fixie as a fashion statement. Most "hipsters" who ride a fixie are couriers. Fixies just so happen to be the best vehicle fit for the job. So if your going to have one, why not pimp it out and make it look cool like the rest of us do with mountain bikes?
Don't talk shit about people who are probably delivering your mail.
  • 2 0
 so couriers are hipsters!??
  • 1 1
no, most hipsters are couriers. couriers are people. Of those people a large portion are hipsters.
  • 2 0
 not sure about that one...
  • 1 0
i think the most couriers are hipsters not the other way around.
  • 1 0
i think most couriers are not at all, they are some dudes that do it for a while to say they have been a messenger, they are the hipsters

I rode an MX until it got stolen, I decided to make a fixie project because I love building bikes and there great for inner city riding (I just moved to Toronto and work downtown), I'm working on fully redoing mine with tones of colors and whatnot but I'm not a hipster, I enjoy building bikes ALOT and just because I have a bike that's all colored and done up to a tee dosent mean I'm a hipster, its an appreciation for your bike. That and I want to try some flat land stuff on it, looks like fun Smile

and i just thought, bmx's was origanaly for racing, same with track bikes, now both get used for tricks, its all good....

@BMXINGBACON I ride a fixie as well and i don't consider myself a hipster, i just think it's the funnest way to get from point A to point B in montreal.
