Im in the Westbank area a couple of times a year. One of these times I need to bring a bike that I can actually pedal , and check out the Westbank trails. I've had "Powers Creek" recommended to me by a friend. Is that one you'd also recommend?

Yep. I've only ridden it once and was guided by an 11 yr old kid who whupped me good. In my defense, Powers has more features than what I am used to and he was on a dh bike while I rode my Blur LT wishing I wasn't clipped in. Next time I'll soften the suspension and change my pedals.

Powers is made to be shuttled and guessing from what I see on your profile, you would have a blast on it. There are some decent videos on youtube of Powers Creek and the guys at Outbound Cycle do a ton of riding up there (its only 15 minutes or so to the trail head from their shop) and could set you up with detailed information.

Smith Creek is another good ride area on te Westside. Climbs for about 9 k and 4 k down. I'd be happy to show you around.

If you check out the new post here on Pinkbike about Hurtin for Vert, they ride through Crawford. That is on the other side of the lake and can either be shuttled or ride up/blast down. We make it over there 4-5 times a season and I am still learning my way around the network of trails there.

Thanks for the reply! Sounds great, I'd definitely appreciate a bit of a guided tour of the trails. Besides Knox mountain, I have been up Gillard and also was at the spot where "Addiction" is located. The directions we followed to get to Addiction were extremely bad and it was only by complete accident that I stumbled onto the correct area.

Are there any trails there that you can ride into the winter months?

Smith Creek should be ridable for a few more weeks. The Rose Valley area on the westside doesn't have as much elavation as Smith Creek and we've been able to ride this area all year depending on the snow, but it is the last area to shut down and the first to ride again in the spring.

Good to know, Thanks for all the info. I'm going to stay in touch and give you a heads-up next time I'm out that way. If we can connect, great.
