Yeah, just wished he or Brandon had practiced a trick, light was totally different by finals...

Indeed, realy nice shot! I think you used flashes for this? How many if I may ask?
  • 1 0
1 flash, or actually 2 x SB800's together below the rider on the left...

Can you explain the benefit of having 2 flashes sitting positioned next to each other?

yes, two flashes offer twice the power of one flash. Or if you turn them to 1/2 power you get the same power as one flash at 1/1, but way faster recycle, and way faster flash duration. Pretty much just better overall.

Wow never thought of it that way... sweet, thanks!

Do you spend much time editing the photo afterwards, with white balance, saturation and your levels etc?? And is this just a one shot, its not HDR with the sky or anything? (:

This is one shot, less than 3 or 4 minutes in post. All I did was get rid of a few dust spots in the sky, my bad for having a dirty sensor....

In which case you truly are a legend, I really need more practice :/

I've been doing this for almost 20 years, 15 of that with film...

Which is what I'm (supposedly) studying! I've just got to get an injury healed and get the most irritatiinly tiny bit more money together for a new cam and get out there, would I be right in thinking that practice makes perfect with both film and photography?
