Selected by Karl Burkat - Awesome light in this photo... Backgrounds and light are really important in a good shot, even with the sickest action ever a photo with average light or a messy distracting background won't look that good. This has solid composition as well with good use of thirds.
Great photo....angle, composition, and all that jazz....however, be it in-camera color adjustments or photoshop afterward, it just seems that everyone wants to over-process or supersaturate their images to the point that the realism is lost.
I'd like to see the original. I hazard a guess that the rider's legs, the stringers on the jump, and the bark on the surrounding trees don't have a greenish hue to them in that image.
When you saturate to the point that non-green objects take on a greenish hue, it's overprocessed.
Sick picture, love the colours, the texture on the woodwork in the foreground and the position of the rider in the picture. That sun is stunning. Right, time to get the bike out and hit the trails!!
Awesome shot. Really love it. Is there a higher rez version than the 1024 x 683? Would love this for my desktop background. But I have a 1920x1280 iMac screen...
