i like the old frame better as well

 go to lappierres site, they explain the pendbox system (that crazy bit the bb is ,mounted in), gt have used a similar system for years (i drive). Basically the bb moves as the suspension moves, this helps stop the chain growth on gt's and stop pedal bob, on this bike though it works slightly differently, but achieves the same thing, the bikes pedaling is isolated from the suspension.
