Maybe, build up or try a 26" just to see?

 To see what?

To see how it feels with 26"...

I dont like 26 as much cuz 24 you can flick round more and its used for park aswell and the local parks here have a steeper gradient on the ramps than normal, more for bmx :/

Well, If you get 26" on a 24" frame it makes it more light and flicky, seen the Dartmoor Ghetto, people run 26" on it because it makes it flicky'r. So 26" will still be good but maybe not on this frame =/

Yeh i seen them around chain looks awkward to get the wheel of cuz its that far back might get a spark frame 24" and cheap...

how does running a larger wheel on a 24" bike make it lighter and more flickable? I think you mean people putting 24" wheels on a 26" frame, as far as i can figure out, 26" wheels on a 24" frame, it will give it a longer wheelbase and the wheels will weigh more... totally the opposite of what you said...

No, wrong. Running 26" will make the bike more flicky, look at Charge-riders Gehtto. 26" on a 24" frame.

that's stupid mate, bigger wheels means longer wheelbase and therefore less manoeuvrable
  • 2 0
he means instead of running 26'' on a 26'' frame which=longer wheelbase you can run 26'' on a 24'' making it more manouverable=shorter wheelbase
  • 1 0
ah well yeah a 26" wheel on a 24" frame would be more manoeuvrable than a 26" wheel in a 26" frame, though from what he was saying it seemed as if he meant 26" wheel in a 24" frame would be more manouverable than a 24" wheel in a 24" frame (like the bike in the photo)

Sam, you don't even right street, wtf would you know? Bigger wheels means higher BB means alot easier for 180s 360s etc, it would make this better for street if thats what he was gonna use it for! Look at Justflux he has 26" on a 24" Capital frame = Move flicky/manoeuvrable.

@sam 264 i think that me the point hes bee tryin to get to you in the first place... Smile

Actually if you look at my photos, i used to ride street, but i gave it up because i moved to somewhere where there aren't any skate parks and nowhere decent to ride street. I'd have thought a shorter wheelbase would make 360's etc higher than a higher bb

It barely changes the wheel base, serious go look at Justfulx's cap.

the wheel base is the same, a circle's perimeter goes outwards, so a bigger wheel will just make the bike higher with 26 on 24 frames, the wheels will be closer together, but wheel base stays the same. hard to explain. the distance from each tyre/floor joining point stays the same.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you! Finally. I know it's the logic thing to thing bigger wheels means bigger wheel base but it's not, you have to think about it funny for a bit. Remember wheels are circular! lol
