That is looking better every time I see it! XTR matches the bike perfect, also good you have upgraded to 15mm axle.
Do you feel improvement with the front wheel stiffness?

I went to 20mm so, I am yet to trail ride it. I rode it around but obviously didn't feel anything just yet. Thanks btw!!

Hehehehehe…..when I get new wheels and and a new rear tire (and saddle, sometime), my 29er with a dropper post will be lighter than yours!!

Getting a lighter bar, cassette, just installed XO brakes, and getting a new shifter and derailluer. Not going to be lighter than mine.

What do you guess you will be at?
  • 1 0
It's 28lbs flat right now weighed with the Elixirs. I have the new style XO's now, and have not weighed it yet. I'm looking at cassetes and hopefully getting a RF bar. I'm hoping 27 flat or something like that.

I am at 29.5, Rocket Ron lost like .8 lbs or something crazy…..get one more Rocket Ron for the rear, Easton EA90XC wheels should drop a stupid huge amount of weight from my shitty Bontrager/Shimano Crap hub wheelset, I am expecting at the very, very least over 1 pound off, so should be well over 2 lbs total, all rotational.

I could see that. My current wheelset is 100g heavier than stock...but stronger, both wheels are 32h and spokes are 14g. Aside from that, I may be getting a S-Works Ground Control when available to try them out and use the Captain for the Voodoo.

Ground control looks interesting. I never even realized how heavy my Captains are….crazy. I should gain stiffness too. Bike will probably feel just blazing fast.

I still don't get how your bike is that heavy….it's not a heavy duty bike, it hasn't made it to heavy bombproof parts, it's got XC/Trail lightweight parts and still isn't light at all.

I know I will be dropping big weight on just cassette. SLX isn't exactly a light contender. Plus, I'll have parts I can keep or sell and make money off.

The cassette and derialluer plus shifter and 20mm lowers.
  • 1 0
...and steel guide. I'll be drilling that as well.
  • 1 0
Still not a heavy fork at all, your derailleur although long cage wouldn't be more than 40g or so more than a short cage like mine, and yeah cassette.
  • 1 0
These pedals aren't the lightest either, but I love wider pedal bodies.
  • 1 0
Yeah those are great. Still no dropper post though. BOOOO.
  • 1 0
 Don't need a dropper post.

 Guess what?

 are you guys tubeless yet?
  • 1 0
That's the first thing I did.
  • 1 0
A lot of people are clueless/scared to go tubeless.. I got ZTR Flow rims on my Demo and UST Minions, stupid light for DH and really light. Just wheelset wise I'm about a full pound lighter than I9's DH wheelset.. and I went all season without any flats or rim damage

that would be a nice slope style bike with other things on Big Grin still sick
  • 1 0
Meh...I have put flats on it and a smaller stem and dropped the saddle...maybe stiffening up the shock and fork and a smaller frame...just maybe.
  • 1 0
 Is this a L frame?
  • 1 0
 Medium.
  • 1 0
That's awesome, but why the long cage X9?
  • 1 0
It's what came stock...read above comment for more info.

 Fair do's! tup

Any more plans for it? I'm liking the build so far. Top notch.
  • 1 0
I want...(Not need lol..it's nice to have spare parts though) Silver X.O derailluer short cage and silver X.O shifter. Deity Dirty 30 bar and I think so far thats all.

I'm liking the sound of that. Dialed Stumpy man. How's the 1x9 for trail riding? Is it enough range to satisfy you?
