I bet you just pull out the axle (in the middle of the Swingarm's pivot) that holds the internally geared hub, and out it comes. Service at your fingertips... Looks like a killer Idea be cool to see the hub located near the BB for lower center of gravity though.

Adding a mudguard on the top of the chainstay brace would keep a lot of the muck out of that area too. Means less service =)

 that looks fun to service

what is the upside to having all that, I mean, it does pretty much the same thing, and I'm going to stick to the theme, it would look like it needs more SERVICE than a regular derailur setup

Less stuff to break in a crash, longer chain and chainring life, I'm not 100% but you may also be able to change gear without having to pedal.

Also looking like it needs more servicing than a traditional setup and actually needing more servicing than a traditional setup are 2 different things...

Alfines or other integrated speed hubs do not need much maintenance, some grease or oil like twice a year, and you just pop a side off and you have access to all the internals. So no, maintenance wise, it's probably better than with a derailleur.

Zerode has been running that in production for like 2 years, and it's been fine. Only drawback in their design is the super steep headangle... but well Razz

That looks like a very similar setup to a Zerode.
