Really top notch performance. Super smooth open bath damping, super stiff, 7.7k Ti spring is awesome... Eats up everything you throw at it and tracks like a guided missle thanks to the larger diameter stanchions. The Ti spring in the WC also offers some nice weight savings over the RC3 and gives the fork a real lively feel. Even when pushed to it's limits, it performs predictably and smooths everything out. The voume adjust is nice too for those situations you want a bit more suspension action or a bit more bottom out, you can easily adjust to what your hitting that day.

Bottom line: I love this thing!!! Now, if only they made a 66 WC!!!

One word of caution: The Ti springs in the WC model are no joke, they are considerably stiffer than those found in the standard RC3. Also, they are only available in two ranges; the 6.5k for 200lb riders and the 7.7k for >200lb riders. Riders under 150lbs may find the 6.5k spring to be way too stiff and I would highly recommend that 'lightweights' ride it before they buy it.

The first thing you notice about these fork is the bright silver Nickel coating on the stanchions, they look simple awesome. the lower legs are massive and look great on my Session 88 FR. There relatively easy to set up, with combined Hi-Low speed compression damping and Air Volume Adjust which helps the fork not to bottom out, by ramping the end of stroke back up. this for feels in total control no matter what your riding, when the going gets rough, these forks are super stiff and confidence inspiring, i didn't think dual crown forks would make that much difference over the Totems i got with my Session 88 FR, but they really do make a massive difference to the way the bike handles. as for down sides, the weight would be one of them, there not light at 3641 grams, but my bike is super light for a DH bike so dont mind to much, plus it keeps the front end down on the ground. The Nicklel coating although super hard, which is why they us it, is prone to scratching, i've only had mine 10weeks and already you can see hair line scratches on the stanchions which i'm not to happy about. Also the Axle isn't great, as you need to sizes of allen keys to unbolt it and i've found when i'm riding hard and go to put my bike back in the car, the 4mm bolts have come a little loose. The only other thing is the graphics on the 09 models are a bit childish, seem to be aimed at 15 year old dirt jumpers instead of DH racing. The 2010 model graphics look loads better. thats it i think.

The bomb proof fork. Totally satisfies the rider's feeling. Responsive, controllable, durable and most important trustworthy. Performs as close as it gets to being nearly perfect. No failing or signs of wear like on a Fox40 after a while.

An amazing fork but on the heavy side. It is super plush and they seemed to fix the annoying nock that was produced from the fork returning to full travel. The only complaint is that the bottom out makes a click when its activated.

It's been good to me so far. Had a little trouble dialing it in...but that's probably because I did it by myself. interms of strength? well I drove my bike straight into a boulder with the speed from a ten foot drop, and despite taco-ing my deemax the fork is still in pristine condition. no new movement in the stanchions at all...this fork takes all the gnarl you can throw at it.

The most supple fork on the market. Keeps the wheels on the ground in the corners yet still eats up the big hits. Feels like a moto fork!

Marzocchi MTB 888 Rc3 World Cup (MSRP $1659) — "The 888 is the benchmark for double crown race and freeride performance. Marzocchi refined this fork since 2004 to bring you the absolute pinnacle in performance suspension. Prepare to be amazed...again."

Specifications Compare to other Forks

Release Date 2009
Price $1,659
Weight 3641 g
Color Options Grey
Travel 200 mm
Travel - refers to the distance the wheel can move in respect to the frame. Typically measured in millimeters, most forks range from 80 to 203 mm of travel
Spring Coil
Crown Dual
Rebound Yes
Rebound - is how quick your fork returns to a fully extended position after being compressed. Almost all after-market forks feature external rebound adjustment for easy fine tuning.
Stanchion material 38mm Nickel Coated
Steer Tube 1.125
Damping Rc3
Damping - The process of absorbing the energy of impacts transmitted through the forks or rear shock during the compression stroke, and absorbing the energy of the spring during the rebound stroke.
DropOut Options 20mm
Compression Hi-Lo Auto Compression Adj, Volume Adj
Compression - This is the damping circuit that absorbs the compression energy force on the damper. Compression damping is used to adjust how quickly a fork or rear shock compresses when hitting a bump, and is adjustable on some products. When compression damping is too soft, this condition allows most of the available travel to be used without attaining control of the wheel. When it's adjusted too firmly, the wheel will jump or "dance" about when hitting small bumps, again failing to gain control of the wheel.
