I agree. Surely the best place on Earth to experience high alpine terrain is the High Alps? Shivering at 3600m knowing you've got a mile and a half vertical to ride is special. Venosc with a vertical mile on your arms is special.

Big props to the rider for bouncing back up. That looks to be savage. Hope he was in one piece when the adrenaline wore off.
