Bike Life Whistler Mountain Bike Bark

This trip was a very long time in the making, for many years we have wanted to venture out and experience the world's best MTB park! The plans finally fell into place! The trip from South Africa is by no means a skip over the ocean, three transfers, one several hour layover and a left behind bike that arrived a week later was just the start!


Arriving in Whistler we immediately built up our bikes, sorted our passes and headed up the mountain! The first ride was an eye opener! I've never ridden anything like it! To top it off I thought I would be confident in my XC helmet! I rolled to the bottom of blue line and went straight to the bike shop, bought my first ever full face, borrowed some knee pads and headed up for run number two! I felt slightly more confident but by run five I was feeling ok! We just don't have this kind of trail on our doorstep!


I would imagine a number of people coming to Whistler will at some point in their trip utter the words, "I could live here!" No doubt it's an amazing town, the vibe is appealing, early morning Starbucks coffee to underground maddness at Moe Joe's! Ride all day party all night, I'm down for that!

We hit Dirt Merchant, well, I rolled it, Tim rode it properly!


Top of the world was mad! We went up on the first day it opened! Seriously, what an experience!


I left a part of me in Whistler, some of that part at Moe Joe's, I'l be back to grab it!
