This article is an attempt to justify a pay wall. It's fails in that attempt given the huge elephant in the room that Redbull TV encounters exactly the same logistics that Discover will and is currently and successfully streaming for FREE. Simple math. Redbull TV pays $x for the rights. If Discover charges customers and has advertisements it can pay more for the same rights and the fans absorb the higher bid. But the biggest shame is that the rights are being sold to someone with no passion for the sport. As sooner as the phrase "more exposure" is used, its normally the kiss of death for quality and also long term following of the coverage. I say this not as a purest mtber but as a capitalist and private equity guy. Niche sports/interests are always best left in the hands of those who love what they do.
