Oct 8, 2012Hayes Nine Disc Brake Set + 203mm Rotors and BFL Levers
$80 USDIncludes:
Front and rear brakes, bled and ready to ride.
8" rotors
BFL lever upgrade (better modulation than the stock ones)
This set is in good shape with minor cosmetic scratches. Used for a season. Pads are in great shape, lots of life. They are coming off a large bike so lots of cable to work with.
-------
BFL lever writeup from PB: The new Hayes Big Fat Levers are beefy and strong. With a black anodized finish and laser etched graphics to go along with a new more comfortable design. Wondering how a set of levers could make my brakes work better I ran out to my garage and proceeded to install them. Once I had one of my stock levers off I compared the two.The first thing noticed is the new levers are lighter than the old ones (not a bad thing).Next thing found by comparing the two was the new ones are taller, the most important difference I found however was the new levers shape. Once installed I could tell right away they perform better. The new height made them easier and more comfortable to "onefinger" the lever than my old ones did. It wasn't untill I got out to the local bike park for a ride in the snow that the new bend showed its' benefit. With the new shape they sit back closer to the bars and the pull feels much more natural than the older design. These levers just felt more comfortable, the new shape made them feel more linear and easy to modulate as I rode down the icy hills. If you have Hayes brakes, and you need or want to replace the levers, the B.F.L levers from Hayes are a good choice.
