Photo Report: Qualifying - La Bresse World Cup DH 2018
I wonder how effective a front fender would be for keeping the mud off the goggles? I ride a small one year round (admittedly at trail bike speeds) and rarely get spray onto my riding glasses. Still, props to the photographers, rain and mud make it seem really moody and intense. I'd imagine the state of the their gear may look similar to some of the bikes. Roll on tomorrow.

Where's the New XTR? 8 Questions With Nick Murdick, Shimano MTB Product Manager
Shimano make a an 11-42 C'S HG500-10. I'm using it with Saint but needed the One Up cage. But a medium cage would work.

Spotted: Manitou's Prototype Enduro Fork and Sun Ringle's Carbon Wheels - Crankworx Whistler 2018
@WAKIdesigns: I had the complete opposite experience of my 2014 Pike RC. Too harsh, great for DH and shuttle days but I could never use all the travel trail riding (75-80kg) 160mm fork. Had the shim stacked halved by Shockcraft, still wouldn't work nicely. I still have it but bought a Mattoc instead.

Riding Troy Brosnan's World Cup DH Bike - Crankworx Whistler 2018
@Clarkeh: Yep, that's a good point, maybe skip the DDs and keep the PSI!

Spotted: Manitou's Prototype Enduro Fork and Sun Ringle's Carbon Wheels - Crankworx Whistler 2018
@WAKIdesigns: I have two Travis forks, three Blacks, a Nixon, a Mattoc on my bike... Pike is gathering dust under a test bench. I think I just have a fetish for 1,1/8th forks too.

Riding Troy Brosnan's World Cup DH Bike - Crankworx Whistler 2018
All these uber low tire pressures for Enduro and quests for rim protection. Proper tires, proper pressures= no problems? I wonder how many riders are using 20 psi in a tire as "fork suppleness". Still great review, nice to hear the specs for a lighter rider too.

Another Jack Moir yeah has to be worth a podium. Even though he's Australian I just want him to win one so I can hear him get interviewed.

Comparison Test: Are Wider Rims Better? We Try 4 Different Widths
Perhaps another thing to consider is flat protection? Maybe a narrow rim with its bulging carcass protects the rim more than a carcass than is more vertical? I tend to float between 2.35 when I have to pedal, and 2.5 if I'm shuttling, with stickier rubber. Going faster usually has more to do with me staying off the brakes than anything on my bike!
