We know bikes better than the back of our hand. Our mechanics service the bikes we sell and we stock a ton of parts for regular bike maintenance or upgrades.

Bike Builder/After Sale Technician

Job Summary: This full time, seasonal role is crucial to facilitating efficient and thorough bicycle assemblies from the box. However, this position is also responsible for ensuring every bike that leaves in a customer’s hands is safe and in perfect condition. The full-time Builder will be expected to assemble bicycles ranging from 12” children’s to high-end electric mountain bikes. They will also be expected to multi-task, and be able to wisely put aside their current assembly in order to serve customers’ needs; i.e. doing “safety checks” on bikes leaving the store, installing racks or fenders, and even installing aftermarket lights wired into e-bikes. Essentially, this is a role intended for an experienced technician, that will not be working on used bicycles in for repair. Their daily schedule will be different and set-aside from the “Repair” technicians in the store. Daily Responsibilities: Follow procedure for different brands to remove the bike from the box, and assemble that bike in a timely manner based on each make and model. Maintain organization and order of operations while choosing bikes to assemble, and follow-through when that bike is complete. Set reasonable expectations to fellow team members for the assembly or installation timeline. Assemble bikes with certain parts, such as, but not limited to; Electronic drivetrains Front derailleurs 7 to 12 speed rear derailleurs Electronic suspension Hydraulic AND mechanical disc brakes Dropper seatposts Install accessories and parts, such as, but not limited to: Rear pannier racks Full-wrap fenders Stems, grips, mirrors, bells, kickstands, pedals, bottle cage E-bike integrated lights E-bike remotes or displays Dropper seatposts Inspect Demo bikes upon customer return for damage or wear. Inventory Coordinator

Inventory Coordinator We are seeking an Inventory Coordinator to support the maintenance and growth of our inventory system. The ideal candidate will have previous experience utilizing new point of sales (POS) systems, utilizing customer service, and have a driven attitude. The successful candidate for this position will be a team player, providing technical support for our sales and service staff, assisting them with data issues and performing other clerical duties as needed. See below for more in-depth responsibilities. Responsibilities: Help with the management of all E-commerce orders and website maintenance Pick items for orders, package and ship if needed, contact customers. Spot check inventory syncs and apply fixes as needed. Physically receive incoming shipments from vendors, labeling, and merchandising. Receive stock and enter data into the inventory management system accurately. i.e. Write correct descriptions, put items into correct categories, properly assign tax class to items Put all received stock away in its correct location, ensuring it is clean, clearly tagged, and properly packaged. Help with the physical layout and organization of inventory. Keeping products in the most convenient place for staff to find Maintain inventory accuracy, maximize operational efficiency, doing cycle counts and price checks. Assisting staff in POS processing of speciality service and sales, i.e. Special Orders Help with restocking of products on the sales floor and warehouse. Warranty Management and Processing Learning/understanding processes of different suppliers Using critical thinking and problem solving to come to a viable solution Assist in miscellaneous clerical duties/backend organization Qualifications: Experience working in a fast pace warehouse or retail environment. Those with bike shop experience will be preferred High attention to detail and good organizational skills. Computer literacy is mandatory: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word (Basic understanding of spreadsheets) Website navigation (menus, Gmail accounts, Google Sheets) Proficient Typing Skills Comfortable with using Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V a lot Online sales/Smartetailing/Lightspeed POS experience an asset Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strives for Continuous Improvement, uses prioritization skills. Autonomy; using inference when information is not readily available. Able to bend, lift and carry up to 60 lbs. This role can be physical; prepared to have days with over 10,000 steps. Comfortable with ladders and lifting overhead. A bit about us: We're a locally-owned and operated full-service year-round bike store in Kelowna BC. We have recently expanded our store to include a comprehensive bike servicing and bike assembly area. The new designated bike service area is equipped with: Fork and Shock Service Station - with tools for Fox and Rockshox rear shocks, vacuum bleeder, etc. Wheel Building Station - with spoke cutting & threading machine. Park Tool Dual Electric E-Bike stand in service write up area. Fully electronic work order system and designated computers for mechanics. Individual, fully-stocked bike work stations for mechanics. Large stainless steel bike wash bay with econoclean. Mucoff Bio Parts Washer. We're looking for an experienced mechanic to take ownership of one of these bike work stations. We'd love to hear from you if you: - have a minimum of 3 years experience as a bike mechanic in a bike shop (more details below), - completed a certification/training as a bicycle mechanic, - have experience in bike assembly and repair of a variety of bikes, including road bikes, hybrid, mountain (including full-suspension), and BMX bikes. Experience with ebikes an asset. - are a passionate bicycle mechanic looking to further your career, - believe in providing exceptional customer service with your quality work and positive attitude, - want to work in a supportive and fun team environment. We're also looking for a candidate with: - Strong repair experience with a variety of bikes - road bikes, hybrid, mountain, full suspension and BMX bikes. - Strong experience diagnosing and repairing e-bikes (preferred). - Experience in wheel building, including determining hub, rim and spoke requirements. - Repair and overhaul suspension. - Repair and maintain hydraulic brakes. - Assisting other mechanics with more technical jobs. - Checking the quality of bike builds by assemblers and providing constructive and positive feedback. - Work closely with other senior team members to make suggestions for changes and improvements to the service area, where necessary or needed. - Experience advising on and ordering required stock. - Read and understand work orders from other mechanics and service team members. - Write out and schedule work orders. - Provide customers with a detailed description of repairs verbally and in written form on work orders. - Assemble bikes when required. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Our ideal mechanic will also have: - Demonstrated organization and time management skills. - Good communication skills, oral and written.
