Tech Randoms: Val di Sole World Cup DH 2019
@bizutch: exactly. Spacers between the frame and top crown don’t raise the bar height one bit. Fork length determines bar height, I don’t know why they do it because it also steepens head angle. Spacers under the stem ala Minnaar do raise bar height.

Video: Ben Cathro Searches for Smooth Lines in Val di Sole
@justanotherusername: I rode Val Di Sole two years ago. It’s ridiculous in real life. So steep and tech, the idea of racing it at speed has a risk factor way beyond any other track I’ve ridden

First Ride: The 2020 Scott Gambler DH Bike is Light & Ultra-Adjustable
Agreed. At last a properly engineered and appropriate weight DH frame, rather than the overbuilt monsters we’re riding now. My S Works demo frame is over 8lbs bare and has a carbon layup that’s something like 5mm thick. You could throw the frame off a building and not break it. I’m a 77kg rider and it’s way overbuilt for me. This Gambler looks the business!

Qualifying Analysis - Les Gets World Cup DH 2019
@hypermoto: More weight is never an advantage turning. This is most basic physics. F1 cars and Moto GP bikes are as light as can be for this reason.

Must Watch: Brandon Semenuk - Midpoint
Of course, but this was a let down for me. This video could have been from 5+ years ago. The game has been moved on by the current breed of slopestylers. Slow mo of tricks BMXers have been pulling for 15 years with nice scenery is ok, but hardly ranks as cutting edge. I get that he likes nose bonks too. Cool.
