Brendan Fairclough Releases Statement After Finals Run at Red Bull Rampage 2024
Absolutely epic run. One for the history books. The perfect combination of absolute precision tech, gnarly raw terrain mastery, ridiculous exposure. He is the bike riders rider, incredibly skilled at all forms of the sport and bravery off the charts. The scoring means squat - Brendog earned a new legion of fans and represented his existing fans at the highest order. Amazing!!

Expert Rider Passes Away After Crash at 2024 USA Cycling National Downhill Championships in North Carolina
@Ttimer: you’re wrong. MTB is significantly more dangerous than driving. The participation factor is enormously scaled toward drivers. I’ve been riding for 25 years and every single rider I know has had a least a broken bone from riding, and none have and an injury from a car accident. The only injuries I’ve sustained in my 45 years on earth are broken finger, hand, and vertebrae, all from riding, it’s dangerous - don’t confirmation bias yourself into thinking it’s not.

DH Field Test: Intense M1 - For Your Gnarliest Trails
@dicky1080: you really miss the hill? Mates and I just returned from 10 days at Whistler. We ride DB tech, A line, Dirt Merch (not the step up] and most of the hill, and ride well (ie. not casing and at reasonable speed). Youngest in our crew of 7 is 54, oldest 62. The only thing stopping you is your desire. Get your shit together and get out there. Physicality of age is not the issue - you probably just need to want it more and work harder at it. Oh, and all but one rides a DH bike. They rule!

[UPDATED] Elite Finals Results & Overall Standings from the Lenzerheide DH World Cup 2023
I thought it was excellent. I’ve been watching DH for 10 years, and was apprehensive, but Cedric and whoever the other guy is were knowledgeable and added excitement. The racing was superb and I enjoyed every minute of it. The GCN app worked - $60 for the year is money well spent for me. Sure red bull was free but hey I’ll forego buying a few lunches for the entertainment.

@CantClimb: Cedric was great. The whole broadcast was top notch, a big relief for the season ahead. Both commentators know their stuff, know the history, know what’s happening with the riders behind the scenes, and they brought excitement, after big shoes to fill they did an excellent job. I’m psyched for the rest of the season,

Video: The Ultimate Guide to Whistler Bike Park 2023
To talk of lift queues being 30 mins is kinda ridiculous. Last year in July we were often waiting 45+ with all lifts running. Fitz takes way more riders than the gondola. For sure queues will be way over an hour, so sadly our crew are skipping it this year - I think 2023 is the time for other parks to have a moment in the sun.
