@Rudy2455: you must have watched a different broadcast to me. You’re pretty miserable c#nts after another nail biting World Cup race. It was awesome to have it back!

I thought it was excellent. I’ve been watching DH for 10 years, and was apprehensive, but Cedric and whoever the other guy is were knowledgeable and added excitement. The racing was superb and I enjoyed every minute of it. The GCN app worked - $60 for the year is money well spent for me. Sure red bull was free but hey I’ll forego buying a few lunches for the entertainment.

@CantClimb: Cedric was great. The whole broadcast was top notch, a big relief for the season ahead. Both commentators know their stuff, know the history, know what’s happening with the riders behind the scenes, and they brought excitement, after big shoes to fill they did an excellent job. I’m psyched for the rest of the season,

To talk of lift queues being 30 mins is kinda ridiculous. Last year in July we were often waiting 45+ with all lifts running. Fitz takes way more riders than the gondola. For sure queues will be way over an hour, so sadly our crew are skipping it this year - I think 2023 is the time for other parks to have a moment in the sun.

You think e bikes are good for the environment? Did you know there are mountain bikes with no motor at all??

@Nopantsdougie: not quite. Shorter head tube means the stanchions don’t reach the lower triple clamp at full travel.

@DGWW: you are talking like someone who doesn’t know anyone that lives in China, and is dehumanising the Chinese population. Why would you rather support the guy down the street who you don’t know, vs the guy living on the Chinese street you don’t know? You think the factory making rims is part of the Chinese government? @Larkey1: agreed. Because Cannonball. It’s a great track even after all these years - for me the only trail there worth riding and good enough to ride all weekend.

I can’t understand why they didn’t do the work during COVID, when there was minimal attendance. First trip back this year and having creekside closed wasn’t that big a deal, but this news mean we cancel our next years trip. Fitz closed the gondola will be chaos. We’ll go to Europe (aussies). It’s a shame, because I think Whistler is the best overall mix of riding in the world.
