Hot Off the Press: Crankworx Coming To Rotorua, New Zealand!
Don't mean to a spoiler, but I just checked the calendar for this years Australian DH series, and it looks like the Toowoomba, QLD, round (which also doubles as the 2015 Oceania Champs) is on the exact same weekend. Please tell me I'm seeing things. How sucky would it be having to choose between going to Crankworx or competing in Oceanias for 'local' racers?

Just Announced - 2015 UCI World Cup DH and XC Schedule
Does anybody remember when Rotorua held a WC or World Champs? And does anyone realise how much or little vertical descent Rotorua has in it's DH trails? Or Canberra's for that matter? Didn't Cairns just host a WC only to have everyone bag it? How big was the hill in Cairns btw? We say we want WC's down under, but what has both the right track and the right logistical facilities to handle it successfully year in year out? Mt. Thredbo?? Queenstown?? They have chair lift's at least. And rumour has Rotorua is getting one too. Both NZ and Aussie have lots of little hills with lots of banging trails, but finding a Schladming type trail is rare.

Course Preview: UCI World Cup Round 2, Cairns
I totally agree. However like all councils, ours talks a lot of crap. Of which making Mt Archer a top tourist destination was one pun they rolled out. It even made the newspaper. I read the headline and laughed. If they're serious about it they would help, not hinder us in building a 400m+ DH facility with shuttle access. Downhill is big here and back home in NZ, but in rocky it practically doesn't exist.

Course Preview: UCI World Cup Round 2, Cairns
Rockhampton council take notice. Mt. Archer IS over 600m in elevation and IS steep. Stop shooting your tourism opportunities in the foot and let us build world class downhill track(s) here! (Rockhampton is only 15 hours drive south of Cairns)

Schwalbe British 4x Round 1 - Leamington Spa
yeah for pommy humor Joebohobo, I own a GT bmx, but not sure what shade of blue and white it's paintjob is. I've ridden bmx tracks that were rougher than the above.. That simply is not mountain biking in my opinion. And you can hardly call that mound of dirt a hill. No, I am not a British Cheerleader so neg prop if you wish, but there are reasons why our wheels are bigger and there are reasons that we pay for suspension forks that cost much more than an entire bmx!

2011 Australian Nationals Rd 1 - Finals Video
Australian DH may be taking off, but i have one issue... In some areas, such as Queensland, esp Central Qld, have virtually no DH trails in cooe. And where are the DH parks in Sydney? I'm an expat kiwi who is used to a whole range of options within an hour or two and there are trails 3 minutes away from my house in NZ. Maybe this is just part of our two unique countries nature, NZ is very compact and everything is close and Oz is a vast and barren land with a bunch of stupid laws?

Windham World Cup Qualifying - Gwin qualifies first
There has to be some reason for Gwin to rise from a consistent top 10 rider to this unbelievably dominant level. How can just one of these top pro male riders just start whack nigh on ten seconds of his times? Neg prop me if you wish; but I'm hoping like heck that the cause of his improvement isn't something sinister like EPO. I'm not accusing him at all, I'm just scaremongering really. Cos, personally, I reckon he's simply having a stellar run on a brilliant bike. After all, Tracey Mosely ain't fairing too badly either.
