The next stop of the 12 races comprehensive European 4Cross Series is going to be in Germany this weekend. On Saturday the 9th, as a part of the 3rd Mountainbike-Festival Reutlingen, the first gold Event of the European 4Cross Series will go down. Racing action in a class of its own is expected.

The Festival

It's not possible to imagine the European 4Cross race calendar without the Mountainbike Festival Reutlingen. The festival goes in the third-round. As a multiple organizer of German national championships, the European 4Cross Series as well as the German 4Cross Cup, a lot can be expected from the German promoter.

Permanent hospitality, the Dual-Pumptrack race and the Slopestyle Contest provide the festival character. A nice catering with music and live video-streaming is going to ensure a big bike event.

The Race

The racing season is coming to the main part, the tension is on its high point with the first Gold Event. The racers are going to battle in 9 different categories for the hotly contested points in the overall ranking. Can anyone in his category pre-decide the overall victory in the European 4Cross Series? The stage victory on the track is highly coveted as well, which will guarantee racing action at its finest.

What happened last year?

The swiss man Simon Waldburger was once again unbeatable. But he will not be racing, because of his exams. So we will see a new face on top of the podium.

The track on the race day last year was covered with a lot of muddy parts.

The Track

The bike park Panzergelände Reutlingen is changing some track designs every year. With the beginning of the festival period they build a new Slopestyle course. Last year the 4Cross track got a new random start gate and this year there is a new Dual-Pumptrack like Crankworx. Maybe we see some big changes at the 4Cross track next year. The 4Cross track at the moment is well-liked by the racers and spectators. The 350 meter long track, which can be overviewed very well by the spectators from nearly any point, is considered as technically demanding. A weatherproof ground layer is also able to withstand any condition.

Similar to the world-famous 4Cross tracks, Reutlingen offers a Pro-Line which lets the top riders jump up to 10 meters.

The Favorites

In the end, it’s the athletes who are going to form an exciting event with thrilling race runs. Thus this event will not lack on battles with famous riders. The entry list is filled with the national and international pros from the several disciplines like 4Cross, Downhill and Pumptrack.

Benedikt Last (GER)
The former German National Champion plus World Championship finalist and medallist is always to be reckoned with. He is the local hero as well as the track builder. His surname “Last” serves as no more than camouflage.

Klaus Beige (GER)
He is one of the best 4cross Riders in Germany. Beige is every year in the hunt for the podium at the Festival. So this makes him a clear candidate for the victory.

Ingo Kaufmann (GER)
The current German 4Cross champion is on fire. After his 3rd place at the 4x Protour in Fort William last weekend he comes with a lot of speed to Reutlingen to get his next podium.
