@vhdh666: "mechanical grip" is acctualy coming from some car-racing friends of ours and referes to the ability of the frame (or chassis) to cope with the vibrations and loads that the tires and suspension would transfer into the chassis. My english is by far not good enough to explain all the sientific details, but imagine the frame helping you to keep gripping in a rough offcamber section without bouncing of roots rocks and bumps. Maybee the best analogy is "frame-compliance" - correct me if im wrong :)

@sanchofula: No, we do only sell it as a belt-drive system, since that is what we found works best for us.

@robw515: they are in the downtube and toptube. A total of 4 tubes are used and bonded to the 7075-T6 "spine of the frame. You can't realy see it in the picture here since its black on black. You can find better pictures on our webpage: https://www.gamuxbikes.com/sego2024/

Complete bikes w/o pedals, depending on frame- and wheelsize start at 18.2 kg. After the initial breake-in time of the gearbox, the added drag is virtually zero. Since you have a consistant "belt-line" throughout all the gears, it's acctually better than a 1x12 system in the upper or lower gears. Pinion and Gates do quite good work in R&D to adress the whole drag-issue. We can just speak from our expereince on the DH bike - we only find benefits.

We are working on a 170mm version with a longer seat tube that will accept a 200mm dropper. Watch this space ;)

We use the carbon tubes to modulate frame compliance. We have invested countless hours in the past three years to figure out what works best for us. The Sego is very much focused arround having as much mechanical grip as possible available to the rider without is loosing out in the precision department.
