Not to bring it all back to the judging . . . BUT is there a category for originality/creativity what with being at an old site? It seems mad that someone could basically ride the same line as last time and practice tricks on it all week and beat someone who's been on the tools all that time building something new. Also since guinea-pigging is arguably the most dangerous bit of the whole process? For instance, I really like that T-Mac has done something different to last time and his canyon gap is such a beautiful new creation, but I'm concerned that he and others like Brendog won't be rewarded sufficiently for their efforts, even though these are the things that get me most excited to watch it. Makes me think there's some virtue to the Nines style judging where they have categories that factor in riders' performances from the whole event, although not sure what that would look like in the case of Rampage.

Seems a shame, Gees run from 2010 was one of my favourites ever. Imagine it's a big risk of getting hurt if you're a racer as well, Fairclough isn't much of a trickster either to be fair.
