I always carry one of those in my bag and absolutely love it. Would recommend to everyone, this must be about the best/biggest thing you can fit in your regular riding pack for trail clearing? I’ve cut some pretty massive trees with it as it is just so sharp, efficient and fast! Maybe a little above its supposed limit but I would bet I’ve cut through some 40-50cm trees. Ok,it does take a little bit of time with that size but when the landowner doesn’t want you using a chainsaw then this is a beast. Only downside is you have mega armpump when you get back on your bike to ride after cutting something big 😂. Also think there’s not much better for clearing little branch’s off trees when clearing a corridor for a new trail, you can just pull one cut and it’ll slice through 5-6 branches at once down a tree (at least on the little pines we have over here in Norway, might not be the same on your giant trees in Canada!)

9 Things I Loved in 2024: Matt Wragg
Absolutely with you on the doggo point! We have a collie we got as a failed working dog and she has become the best trail dog and friend ever. I’ve never used a lead with her and she never runs away from me, she absolutely loves to go with us on the bikes and as you say, it makes you ride in a different way too if you were alone. The only thing I could do with is some kind of shoulder sling to carry her with when we have to do big sections of tarmac or gravel road.
