First Look: 5DEV's $200 Titanium Chainrings For SRAM Cranks
@jonemyers: I can’t comment for shimano, but sram (based just on recent observation) seem to increase the amount of machining as you go up the brand range. I think the lowest are either completely forged, or 90% forged with some of the assembly face and teeth profile machined. The gx x sync 2 looks to be an initial forge with nearly all of the teeth and interior shapes machined. Then the top range stuff has additional machining into the face to reduce weight / add coolness…

Coal Bicycles' Prototype Steel 'Park' Bike
Steel carbon blah blah… 33lb is clearly the weight of that linkage! That thing looks like an industrial machine component. In an age of FEA and 5 axis machines why do so many links look so chunky. The edge thickness looks uniform, no weight saving cut through sections. The link looks like an apprenticeship challenge for a machinist. The bike as a whole looks really good - we have the technology so let it design and improve the link. As opposed to making what we can draw with a protractor

Glad I’m not the only one that thinks that! I’ve bruised my shin bone bailing out before and the tube was only slightly squared…

Spotted: Prototype Ibis Enduro Bike
Oh yeah, I think you’re right… at that small dimension I don’t imagine it can have any negative effects on shock alignment. Is the yoke integral to how ibis tune they’re kinematic? Just seems like an easy element to eliminate. In any case great to see the link forward of the seat post! Hopefully it still pedals like the Ripmo. P.s ibis please ditch the light tune shock and add some more progression. Clearly this bike will be for big hits!

The New Rapha / Brain Dead Collection is Rave Ready
@mikekazimer: regardless of sponsorship deals I think both Mikes should be required to rock these bombastic pants for the entirety of the next pinkbike review summary interviews! Preferably not hidden behind a desk
