Get yourself a PNW Coast Suspension Dropper, it makes the world of difference. I know it's only 120mm drop, but it works.

@mikekazimer: heated gloves should have the heating element, then insulation, then wind chill protection on the outside, and a normal inside for grip and feel. Bit like a Brisker on steroids.
