iXS European Downhill Cup and Schwalbe EFS are coming to the Out of Bounds Festival in Leogang

The Out of Bounds Festival is - without a doubt - considered as one of the most prestigious bike events of the entire season. Concentrated bike action from May 24th – 27th in the three most competitive bike disciplines: Downhill, dirt jump and four cross. Beside the FMB World Tour (with the 26TRIX fueled by Monster Energy) the iXS European Downhill Cup and the Schwalbe Euro Four Cross Series will take place in the mountain resort in the Salzburger Land as a tour stop. The unofficial rehearsal for the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships promises big names, big action and lots of high-class bike entertainment.


The iXS European Downhill Cup is besides the UCI World Cup series the most important downhill race series. In 2012, the performance level will be extremely increased, due to the fact that only licensed riders can shred down the trails. The Out of Bounds Festival in the Bikepark Leogang once again gathers the “Who is Who” of the international downhill scene. Just one week after registration for the iXS Cup had started, the line-up of world elite riders in the DH race in Leogang is overwhelming: Be it Troy Brosnan (AUS), Brendan Fairclough (GBR), local hero Markus Pekoll or old stagers like Cedric Gracia (FRA) – the biggest names of downhill will come to the Out of Bounds Festival.


The reason for the even more prominent cast: The iXS European Downhill Cup is the last competitive preparation chance to get familiar with the notorious and very demanding “Speedster” in the Bikepark Leogang. It is the official track at the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships at the end of August this year in Saalfelden Leogang.

4X is not dead! Considering this device, the Schwalbe Euro Four Cross Series is closing the gap between the national 4X series and the world cup, by bringing some fresh air in the development of this action loaded discipline. In the second year of the EFS, the Out of Bounds course, designed by 4X legend Guido Tschugg, will also be the testing phase for the upcoming UCI World Championships. Consequently the 4X elite with riders like Tomas Slavik (CZE), Joost Wichman (NED) or Michal Prokop (CZE) are all expected to start at the EFS competition in Leogang. Exciting duels, respectively double duels guaranteed! Moreover Austria’s best 4Xer come to fight for the title of the Austrian National Champion.


Last but not least, the 26TRIX fueled by Monster Energy will for sure bring us some eye-catching moments. A slightly modified and improved course will ensure big airtime and magic moves, performed by confirmed participants like Sam Pilgrim (GBR), Brandon Semenuk (CAN), Anthony Messere (CAN), Cam McCaul (USA) or Martin Soderstrom (SWE).
