Laurie Greenland’s Prototype Forbidden Uses an E-Bike Front End - Whistler DH World Cup
Agreed! Would also be nice to see Ben trackside at the events. Watching him from the mancave is kind of lame.

Beyond Gravity Announces First Wave of Athletes Signed On for 2027 Event
@maydenabikepark: I think what your team is doing is awesome, don’t get me wrong.
I think we are a long way off from money ruining MTB, but money has more or less ruined many other sports. It’s to the point now where middle and high school footballers are in the game to cash in. That’s not a thing in MTB, which keeps it passion-motivated, and that’s a great thing. That said, I’m all for this and will gladly pay for the show as I do for UCI and other MTB viewings. Let’s hope the vibes stay good and the riders get some hard earned paydays.

Beyond Gravity Announces First Wave of Athletes Signed On for 2027 Event
@the-smith: And a lot of those football stars are total douches. The vibe in MTB is wildly different than any other professional sport I’m aware of. I think money plays a role there, but I could be wrong.
I’m all for these riders getting paid whatever the free market decides, I just hope the money doesn’t change the sport for the worse.

This will be awesome…and I hope that the money doesn’t ruin the sport. Money has a funky effect on people and sports.
Curious if this will put pressure on the UCI DH. I’m no fan of the UCI, so I’m all for that.

How to Get Your Kids Into Mountain Biking
Don’t force your hobbies on your kids. If they like it, great, if not let them find their passion. Some kids couldn’t care less about bikes. Others light up like they were just handed the keys to a Ferrari F40 when they get their first bike. It’s pretty easy to tell.

Ride to Win the RockShox BoXXer Ultimate
Same. Whatever would happen to me on 1199 is going to cost me far more than a Boxxer!

Video: The Aftermath of a 60 Foot Huck Gone Wrong in 'The Noble Gap - Beyond the Landing'
@sino428: You are getting the thread confused. I never said anything regarding a “basic physics calculation”.

Video: The Aftermath of a 60 Foot Huck Gone Wrong in 'The Noble Gap - Beyond the Landing'
@mandi303: I hear you, but the article seems to contradict your takeaway.
The article gives a vibe of condoning “dumbassness” and that’s something we don’t need in this sport. In particular “no previous attempt to study” is damning.
“For Tyler, the feature represented years of riding, building and progression. There was no previous attempt to study and no reference point beyond the measurements, preparation and belief that it could be done.”

100% this.
Being a dumbass isn’t sustainable, cool or admirable.
