2 wheels! The scene after the intro with Eddie Reynolds and presumably Josh Hill, was brilliant

Shimano Reinvents Deore Group With New Brakes & Cable-Actuated Drivetrain
@gnaralized:
Deore has been around wayyyyy longer than SX and performs a boat load better. NX would be a more similar comparison but also still sucks in my experience, at least after it’s had some hours on it. I run Deore 6100 drivetrain on the bike I ride most and could easily change it to something higher spec, but it just plain works as is.

Wolf Tooth Launches Locked-In Bar Ends with Joe Breeden
As someone who suffers from arm pump and carpel tunnel issues, this is something I’m absolutely going to try. Strength and good form only go so far with this stuff.

Industry Veteran Hans Rey Calls for Clearer E-Bike Definitions in Open Letter to the Bicycle Industry
Whole heartedly agree with Hans and his sentiment. In my opinion, DJI coming to market with such a powerful motor, and the resulting arms race that at least Specialized and Bosch seem to be participating in, needs to stop. Ruining a good thing here chasing power.
That said, I massively disagree with capping the speed limit at 15mph. A huge benefit of these machines is riding them on gravity trails and self shuttling, and there are absolutely cases where even at the current 20mph cut off, you are pedaling past the motor going into big jumps in wide opened/bike park type terrain. For riding twisty singletrack in the woods, pedaling at 20mph is not an issue in my opinion, as in riders are not pedaling at 20mph through the woods and probably aren’t realistically getting anywhere close to that unless they are going downhill.

The 2026 Specialized Levo R is in a Category of its Own
@pisgahgnar:
I agree with you. A mid power unit would have been cool and reduced weight even more. Seems like some brands are only going full power these days. Probably to compete with DJI.

I hear your logic but some regions don’t require a long travel bike regardless if it has a motor or not. A 130/140 eeb sounds pretty fun to me. Also, brands are going to keep expanding their electric segments. If they make a 130mm analog bike, guessing they’ll eventually have a similar E platform.

Video: Jack Moir Puts his World Enduro Race-Winning Bikes Against the Clock
Enjoyed this series of videos so far for sure! I had a feeling the old Canyon would prevail, just something about the way Jack rides that seems to be well suited to that bike.
