@jeffitup: Scotland is a utopia for riding, because of that there is no real need for us to venture far, if we do happen to get bored of Scotland then Wales isn't far away ether. So yeah, I have ridden in many different places around the UK. I just don't see biking of any sort taking over and becoming main stream in the UK. People seem to prefer sitting on their fat asses watching crappy TV and would more thasn likely have a heart attack just at the price of a good bike! My mind may change after riding Tasmania and mainland Australia in September. TBH, I lasted about 30 seconds of the first video, and fast forwarded the 2nd (no ebikes in ether) Whistler is always like that on opening day. It is what it is, least it keeps them all contained to one small area of the world!

@G-A-R-Y: I agree, you can get the weight down by making the changes you've stated, but even at the 20.9kg you've still gone over your allocated allowance because you're bike bag will be in the region of 10kg. Lets be generous though and take the 3kg off for the battery pack, that would leave you with 2kg for all your bike gear and what ever other clothing you need to take with you. No way you could do that without needing 5-10kg of excess baggage. At $50 a kg then it gets expensive especially as it per trip. As I say though, that's my only gripe, if you're staying within country then happy days

@jeffitup: You're right, "humans" are encroaching on nature but that's not an ebike or conventional bike issue, it's an issue of human beings! I ride in Scotland for the majority of my time. The laws in Scotland allow me to ride pretty much anywhere so long as I ride responsibly. In short we have some of the most relaxed laws in the world yet I don't see any of this "theme park" nonsense! I see people out on both ebikes and conventional bikes both living in perfect harmony but convention bike way outnumber ebikes. Any damage that you see at a trail centre/bike park (not theme park) or on a natural ride has not been done by an ebike alone. The reality is that before the ebike got there there was most likely 100 conventional bikes there before it. I understand your concern for nature but again it boils down to human beings and riding responsibly!

@jeffitup: Can I have some of what you are smoking? Theam parks..... Really? And for your info, I don’t like slurpies, and hardly ever eat fast food and I don’t have or want an ebike. I’m just not a narrow minded prick like you!
