It’s been awhile but your comments sums up Smith or perfectly. He was a guy that was so loved that everyone loved to cheer for him. Says a lot about him and a lot about how much the sport and I’m sure the people who knew him lost.

I'll always remember the scene in follow me with Stevie & Brandon.
Smith; "Knock knock"
Semenuk; "Who's there?"
Smith; "A broken pencil"
Semenuk; "A broken pencil who?"
Smith; "Aahh never mind it's pointless"
Thanks Stevie, ride with you soon

Omg yesssss!!!!! That was the start of me mountain biking. That was the first mtb vid I had seen and had actually made me start biking myself. Now ive got two sponsors. So yeah. Stevie was a big influence on my life.

Wishing death upon any human being, even a despicable one, and even in exchange for another good one, is absolutely disgusting.

@oliver4488: If you want to make jokes out of Stevie's passing, you might also not want to post them up on here..

This has really effected me, like really. I think I've watched that tribute like 10 times. I never met him, never even spoke with him, but I'm totally and completely bummed by his passing. Not sure if it's because he was so young or as a parent if it's the thought of another parent burying their own child. I can't put my finger on it but I've also been inspired by his memory. I guess that's the mark of a great and genuine person though. You don't have to meet them to know they were truly something special. RIP Stevie, I hope to meet you on the other side when I get there bro!

Still struggling to come to terms with this... though I never met him, Stevie exuded good energy and played a big part in one of the most dramatic DH seasons ever, coming up with the goods when the pressure was on.
Shred on Stevie, you're one of the best kind.
And as for you 2016, you're gonna have to work damned hard to have any hope of redeeming yourself.

We dream of leaving our mark in this world. We dream of leaving behind something greater than ourselves through our passions, wether it is who we love or what we live for. Stevie, you have left your impression, and we continue to look up to you and your ever contagiouse attitude towards riding and life.

Met him once he was always my idol I drove myself to do good at races to try to be like Stevie. I mean I actually cried when he died. He will always be my biggest inspiration in biking. I will always try to win every race for him. Instead of my last name it says long live chainsaw on my jersey. I've had this huge sense of loss ever since he died. He helped me push the god damn anorexia through insta dms I told him how much of an inspiration he was to me and he responded telling me to push through it, that meant the world to me. For now on every race run I do is dedicated to STEVIE. #longlivechainsaw

I tear up every time I watch this. Stevie's story has been so public to all of us ever since Seasons so many years ago. I think because of this many of us connected with him to a much greater extent than almost any other prominent figure in the biking world. I've honestly been more broken up about Stevies passing than the deaths of some of my own distant family members... Despite this communities tremendous loss, Stevie has left an immense and lasting impression. He has shown us that with a dream and a passion, no goal should be dismissed as too lofty. That a humble and kind personality is always more likable than moody one. That no matter how big the obstacles, how turbulent the path, we must always persist. Despite having never met Stevie, I love and miss him like a good friend. Safe travels brother!
I would love to see some sort of Stevie tribute apparel or art that contributes to the Legacy fund. Please do a colab piece!!!
