18 Bikes That Could Be Updated in 2024
Holy fuck the side brace has got to go. It’s got to be up there with the most hideous bike designs ever released. I have the Evo and a Levo. Everyday I’m in my garage and I cringe at that damn asymmetrical brace. I bought them because they rode well and didn’t put a lot of thought into “is this the best looking bike out there?” But years later I can’t stand the side brace. I reckon since they proved on the Levo SL they can eliminate the side brace that future Evo’s may not have it. Specialized, get rid of the side brace.

$2400 USDI bought this Stumpy Evo in 2021. At the time this was the original Evo. It came in two sizes, S2 or S3. I’m 5’11 so went S3, it’s a L/XL. 475mm reach, 75.6 degree seat angle. Head tube angle is 63.5 in low or 64 degrees in high.
This is a sleeper bike. It can handle everything you throw at it.
I put a Cascade Components rear link on it and cut the 5mm spacer off the shock, which bumped the rear travel to 160mm. The front still has 150mm travel. I planned on bumping it up to 160mm or 170mm but I was flowing real well with the set up as is.
It has some nicks and scrapes from being ridden. It has years and years of life left in it. This bike evolved my riding. Prior to this bike I didn’t ever hit jumps or ride gnarly trails. This bike improved my riding 10x.

10 Things I Loved in 2023: Mike Kazimer
My 4 year old pulled some candy off the shelf at the grocery check out line last week. I told her no a few times but gave in and let her buy the candy. Had no clue what it was, didn't look. In the car I asked her what she bought and if i could have some. It turned out to be Nerds Gummy Clusters. Holy shit were they good. I've always been a fan of nerd rope back in the day but its been years since I've had them. Nerd Rope and Nerd Gummy Clusters for the win.

Pinkbike Poll: Who Taught You How To Mountain Bike?
I was a skateboarder in middle/high school and refused to ride BMX. I skated; that was that. I devoted all my time to skating. Snowboarded in the winter. Then at 30 I got into mountain biking and realized I’d been missing out the whole time. Son of bitch. You mean I could have been bombing hills on bikes this whole time? I wish I would have been more open minded when I was younger.
