Most MTB edits are usually filmed on clean, smooth and tidy bike park styled tracks. Yet here's Dan Atherton again, showing us if you have the determination and motivation to build your dream track then it can be done. This video along with the Quarry he sculpted in Wales for Four by Three are just steps ahead of so many other projects. I mean the guy even makes the World Cup tracks look like childs play compared to what he builds. What an inspiration.

I've found the comments sections on the World Champs articles disappointing. What the three Atherton siblings have done for MTB begs belief. They have all been major factors in pushing this sport to what it has become today in the Jr, Female and Male categories and provided tonnes of great racing entertainment in the process. With Dan surviving a broken neck, Rach proving herself after sustaining injury after injury and Gee providing awesome entertainment over the years with comeback after comeback not to mention the great Atherton - Minnaar battle. Atherton racing have proved that careers can be made in this sport, aiding many teams in being financed by bike companies to tour the DH circuit internationally. What this family have done for the sport we love is astonishing! So I find it very saddening to see so many people slam one of the hardest training athletes, because he won a race and was humble in the process? After such a disappointing season for Gee can't we all just be happy that he won and take the fact he came across the line quickest as the only factor that decides who was the strongest rider on that day and also who was the rightful winner?

We don't have many pike parks available and even fewer with an uplift service. If you want to ride at places with uplifts regularly the best way to do that is by racing. So everyone races
