Kyra's been really inspirational, such an amazing attitude. I'll miss her, though it doesn't seem like an unfair decision.

Video: Welcome to the 2021 Fall Field Test - Trail and Downcountry Bikes
A bunch of people sharing their subjective apples-to-oranges opinions on a random assortment of bikes I can't afford, and talking about suspension tuning concepts I'll never understand. I shouldn't like field tests, but they're high on my list of favourite PB things! Looking forward to it!

Pinkbike Annual Community Survey Results: Who Are Pinkbike Readers?
Thanks for sharing your feelings on this - I imagine you knew it would attract some negative comments but showed courage to do it anyway. I consider myself a pretty 'reasonable commenter' but I'm sure I easily scroll past negative/misogynistic comments without giving too much thought ... I'll try to be more vigilant and to help make this a more welcoming place for all!

8 Men Charged in $1.5 Million Mountain Bike Shop Burglary Criminal Ring Investigation
I'd love to see more investment into theft-prevention features - I wonder if a bike (or component) manufacturer could gain much market advantage with that kind of tech? I know it's not an easy problem to solve, but there is surely so much more that can be done. Why aren't consumers demanding it? Tracking devices would be pretty easy - even if a bike is getting stripped, a tracking device might give you a few hours time window to follow the thieves. For the time being, assuming my lock is easy work for a modern thief, my best protection is to keep my bike near to much more expensive bikes!! Not exactly reliable!

Not much chat about Bradley here, but that was a pretty epic downhill run (within half a second of the pro?). Up to now it's looked like Emmett was nailed on, but could he have some real competition? Interesting to see Kyra's approach/result on that downhill run. If you're looking to show your potential, is it better to push yourself to (and beyond) the edge even though it means higher risk of washing out and losing 10 seconds? For the competition format in this episode, probably not, but maybe it's a better than riding safely within your capabilities if you really want to progress. I really like Kyra's attitude.

@HB208: I'm assuming you mean well, but the idea of people looking to internet commenters for tips on how to live their life is probably not a good way to go!

Video: Brooke Goudy on Removing Barriers & Why Representation Matters
@vinay: I was trying to make the point that people don't THINK they need to look like someone, but that maybe on a subconscious level it makes a difference when you're exposed to more images/experiences of seeing who is doing what activities. I'm a white guy in a majority-white region of a majority-white country, so I can't speak from personal experience here. I'm just doing my best to understand what people like Brooke Goudy mean when they say something like 'as a little girl, I didn't see myself being one of those riders'. And I'm happy to be proved wrong and make some mistakes as I try to learn to more empathetic about race issues.
