Video: Testing Suspension in Lousã with Neko Mulally
Hey man, thanks for watching my video! The difference between ochain and a low engagement hub is that at the moment of impact causing the chain growth and pedal kick, your hub pawls could be at any distance between the next point of engagement. If it is about to engage when you hit an impact, it could be just as bad as a hub with instant engagement, but it could also be as far from the next point of engagement as possible and not have much pedal kick. You are more likely to have less pedal kick with the lower engagement hub for sure, when I was using DT swiss I always used the lowest tooth ratchet in the hub for that reason. The ochain however has a set amount of rotation for each impact, and you can change it from 6, 9 or 12 degrees. It would probably be best to run this device with a high engagement up for a more consistent feel. I am not sponsored by them, I just think it's a cool product.
