What type of rear suspension run bike is that? I think i used to know but can’t remember now that my son is about ready for that.

@chrod: as far as i can tell they already are a niche, not overly popular but have their place I see them holding in the market better than 2.8-3.0 tires but time will tell.

@artistformlyknowasdan: 63HTA, 42 offset on my Honzo ESD works well too.

I can see both sides to the argument. I am enjoying my Honzo ESD with a 150 Z1 up front. I don’t believe anyone has pointed put that there is more than 1 way to use most of your travel. It is not necessary to always dive into your full travel headfirst so the hta increases drastically. You can lean back as front wheel is about to run into a rock you can’t avoid (padding for bad line choice or too high speed). Let the long travel soak up the front wheel hit and use the rebound to pop off and clear your rear wheel over the obstacle.

They were terrible but i put up with them because I couldn’t afford (justify) an upgrade.

I appreciate this list big time. And am still looking for more podcasts that dive deep into gear talk. MTB podcast is good for this, still just checking out the worldwide cyclery update since Jonathan and Steven stopped recording, new ones have been pretty good. Also miss regular recordings from JRA and The Path. Anyone else have good gear talk recommendations?
