Aaah, the changing of the seasons! The cooler winds and shorter evenings. Puddles and mud patches return to our trails, and squirrels mug us for trail mix instead of picking acorns like they aught to. The fallen leaves cover the woodland floor and crunch under our wheels as we play the game of "which way was this damn trail?". Oh, and Dangerholm changes from jorts to leggings.

So support your local, probably shop-run, race event / series. They might seem a bit shonky and barebones compared to the halcyon days of enduro racing, but times change and it's a chance to get back to what matters; having fun on your bike in the woods with like minded people.

I'm sure they'd love to. From the article Tweedlove would love to carry on filling that position in the market, but for the reasons listed it's just not economically viable or sustainable to be a major scale event organisation. It's an issue that might not be universal, but it's wider than just enduro racing. There are events and festivals across the country which are stripping back the scale if they're happening at all. The cost of events; equipment hire, planning fees, other parties "wanting in" and taking a larger cut than ever before has skyrocketed since COVID, couple that with so many industries, just as the MTB industry, becoming more reluctant to offer sponsorship and pay for these events (either industries are actively hurting or there's an anxiety around shareholder's pushing to cut the outgoings to stay profitable) and the only way to not lose money on such events if for the ticket prices to go up. Have you paid attention to even pre-scalper gig ticket prices in the last 5-6 years? There's only so much increase we as customers/attendees can take before we just stop going, and then events will collapse entirely.
