Press Release: iXS Downhill Cup

The time has come, the long-awaited race dates for the 2024 season can be published. A jam-packed calendar with some new locations and popular classics means we can expect a season full of travelling and excitement. Here are the dates of the iXS series.

As every year around this time, the dates for the upcoming racing season can finally be published. It was a lot of hard work, but a look at the individual series shows that it was worth it. After the Corona period had quite a strong impact on the competition industry and nobody really knew what would happen afterwards, last year's season already showed that the demand for high-quality racing events is back. The aim was therefore to offer the individual series again in full size and variety.

iXS European Downhill Cup

The iXS European Downhill Cup will take place next season with a total of seven races and will once again spread across half of Europe. The flagship series from Racement will be taking place in Spain for the first time and will therefore challenge the travelling habits of the participants. A total of six countries will be visited, with the venues consisting of old favourites and interesting new destinations. One thing is for sure, anyone who ventures onto these tracks should make good use of the off-season.

iXS Downhill Cup

In the 22nd season of the iXS Downhill Cup, the popular international series for everyone will be visiting seven locations. Of course, the classics such as Winterberg, Ilmenau and Bellwald are not missing, but for the first time, a former European Cup track in Spicak in the Czech Republic will also be featured. So if you want to experience a great weekend with your racing buddies, you should make a note of these dates in your diary.

So as you can see, 2024 is going to be a pretty busy year. In particular, the iXS European Downhill Cup will accompany the World Cup's steps towards more difficult access with a strong and extensive series. As always, series registrations will be open in February, so you can already book your participation in a relaxed manner. The individual registrations will then open again approx. 8 weeks before the respective race.

No races in the Americas, Africa, Asia or Australia in this series. Unbelievable. /s

Maybe because it's a European series?

@neimbc: slow hand clap for the American

Sadly not, it gets very little in the way of actual content, even on here.... I do find it weird that it's a feeder class for WCDH and barely registers on PB articles.

with 6 out of 7 races in Europe the UCI DH Cup is only about 14% less European than the iXS Cup..
well done UCI

Is this streamed anywhere? Be sick if they hooked up with redbull

I could be wrong, but I think in the past you've just been able to watch them live on youtube

Better again , Get them to run an Enduro series...
  • 4 0
We already had this ten years ago with the Specialized Enduro Series and the European Enduro Series.

Hey @Racement you know there's a French DH cup on the same weekend as your race in Les 2 alpes, right?
  • 6 0
 I'll expand on this...
There will be two UCI class 1 events on the same weekend, in the same country! That's not helping any privateer looking for those precious world cup qualifying points.
People can (and will) criticise the UCI and the system all they like, but this is doesn't look good for either of the organisers. Do you have any interaction between yourselves and other race series planners?

@Maxcommencemal: We currently have no knowledge of where another French race will take place. Unfortunately, it is also very difficult for us to put together a suitable calendar without conflicts, as we have a race on almost every weekend with our various series (iXS European Downhill Cup, iXS Downhill Cup, PROPAIN Rookies Cup and VPACE Kids Cup).
Of course, we don't want two races on the same weekend in the same country.
  • 1 1
@Maxcommencemal: you should come to Australia.......
  • 3 1
@Racement: you guys all need to communicate better, especially when both your race series are world cup feeders. You aren't the only one at fault, but the lack of dialogue with national federations is a huge oversight.
  • 3 0
@Beyond-The-Tape: you guys should leave everything up to Frenchie, then all Aussie races would be the best ever!
  • 2 0
@Racement: The french rounds are listed on the UCI calendar and have been for some time now. It's a shame they clash, but it is what it is. You can't please all the people all the time ;-)
  • 4 0
@Maxcommencemal: In all honestly, shouldn't this be the task of the local organisier? As far as I know the local organiser has to clear all the admin details with the nat. federations.

Anyway agreeing it sucks having to choose between two races on the same weekend. 1st for the racers and 2nd also for the organisers of both events.

@cro-magnon: it's up to all the stakeholders to ensure there's no clash. As far as I can see, Racement and the FFC are equally at fault and passing the blame from one to the other will not resolve anything in the long term.
Moving on, I sincerely hope that both parties can learn and improve from this situation and consider dialogue when planning future events.

The race in Les 2 Alpes has now been postponed by four weeks so that it no longer clashes with the French Cup race.

Panticosa! The old schoolers might remember a world cup there back in 1996.
  • 1 0
Didn’t Tomas Misser win there? And Markus Klausmann the following round in Nevegal? Gee, I feel old…
  • 3 0
@fjm35: Yes,think you're right...also,it was Shaun Palmer's first world cup,and he used clipless pedals and hated it.

I wish I had the memory for more important things!
  • 2 0
Worldcup is European anyway, so we decided to stick with the original European Series Razz
  • 2 0
Looks like there's a little copy/paste error in there for the Lenzerheide (SUI) round.
  • 1 0
true. lenzerheide stop is on the 21 -23 june
  • 2 1
All the north / south American privateers better start planning for a summer in Europe.
