A little off topic, but in the same vein..... Thinking of changing my bar set-up from long stem and medium width bar to 780mm wide OSX and very short stem (this is for use on an all-mountain type longish travel frame). I've been told by other riders that I can really reduce stem length with wider bars, giving more climbing control during all mnt rides and also more control for descents in the park. I use my bike for xc and dh. Does anyone have advice on wide bar set-ups?

The Specs include: Tires: Specialized 26X2.30" Dual Compound "Eskar" Wheels: Sun Rims Double Track SL1 (front- used 4 times) Sun Rims SOS (rear) Hubs: Shimano both have 15mm QR Brakes: Hayes Sole hydraulic disc brakes (new pads and bled 2 rides ago) Levers: Hayes Sole aluminum Head set: FSA "The Pig DH Pro" Handlebars: Truvativ XC Riserbar Stem: Specialized 110mm (new 2 rides ago) Shifters: Shimano Deore "Mega 9" drivetrain Crank: Truvativ with new bashguard and new big ring Fork: Marzocchi GranFondo3 5" travel Shock: Fox Vanilla R with adjustable rebound and 600X2.25 adjustable coil Have extra parts (extra wheel, stem, crank rings....) to sweeten an already great deal. Reason for selling is that the frame is too small for me and I have recently bought another longer travel all-mountain bike. All reasonable offers considered. Trade on 29er would be interesting.
