Soo.. Starva meets Tony Hawks' Graffiti ? Down!

I would definitely use the app but that being said I don't think marketing it as an answer to traffic congestion should be a priority. I live in San Diego and there are a ton of road cyclist as well as a ton of cars on the road. Most of these guys are not riding for transportation thus not really taking any cars off of the roads. I ride everywhere I can and I don't strava my rides when I go around town on my bike. It would be cool to see bike lockers, shops, or more bike friendly routes emphasized on a map within the program. This might encourage people to ride a little further if they new they had a secure place to use and store a bike. I could be just reinventing a feature that already exists in this app or others. If anyone knows of this fabled app please drop some knowledge.

Hmm I don't understand how this app will change anything. Why should we use it, except our universal understanding we agree it would be better to have less cars and more bikes?

 hi brotherbilly, all

First of all, clarify that I work for RiderState. We thank you very much your comments, it gives us a real approach on what the bike community thinks about the project. As you pointed out brotherbilly, we have a GIS system which allows us to set a large set of POIs into the map, of course, as you said, we agree that some info such as bike lockers or shops would be useful, however, we don't want to be invasive into the game, probably most of you, could consider undesirable or useless to have these sort of data into the game...

We prefer that these information will be included by you as a member (we will have tools for doing that as Waze or other routing apps already have), and the community will moderate if the info is usefull or not (somehow similar than Karma ;-) )

We can not ensure how many people will start using their bike instead of their car, however, we guess that our game is a good approach to engage these riders who sometimes prefer the car...Our goal is to promote the bicycle and we will do our best to expand the philosophy

Thank you very much for your feedback, it is our most valuable asset. Don't hesitate to contact us for more information or suggestions

Hi all, as most of you pointed out, there are some missing information in the post about the game

Here we explain how the app works

www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT8ngOJjzVI

RiderState's main features are:

Game board: Riderstate divides the world into 10,000 m² zones, each of which represents a potential territory to be conquered.
Route tracking: Smartphone GPS technology enables RiderState to gather important information regarding your location, speed, distance, altitude, etc. at each time, record it. RiderState analyzes this information and applies different algorithms which determine your final score. Users can compare this score to users in the rest of the world.
My Territories dashboard: Users can keep track of the different scores and conquered territories by accessing the “My territories dashboard” in in app menu.

Play against other world players or create a closed group with your friends and keep the competition private.

What is the game component to this? I can ride my bike on lots of different roads already, that's not new. Seems better to ride places you actually enjoy riding, and not ride everywhere possible just to fill in a red box on an app.

 Hi MTBLegend92,

Thank you very much for your comment, I guess that the post does not contain all the information that it should, I apologize you :-S

Riderstate divides the world into 10,000 m² zones, each of which represents a potential territory to be conquered, it means, that you don't need to ride places you don't like or defined by the game.

The goal is to get the higgest score in your territories, at this way, you will become the Mayor of your places, and your friends or neighbors will try to grab you ;-)

However, it is only the beginning, there are much more strategies and game dinamics awaiting to our riders

Moar trucks less carrrzzz. Lets color our skies orange at dusk with the pungent smell of exhaust filling the air. I need my 6000 pound truck to haul me and my Starbucks coffee to work! Bikes are toys they should not be allowed on the road!

Totally agree... Less cars more bikes...

doesn't explain how it works or how you score points or whatever.

 Hi meph,

There isn't an enduro version because the app is made for all kind of bikes: road, MTB, DH, Enduro, Freeride... We want to do a game app for the bike lovers and anybody can play within and conquer every street, every countryside, every neighborhood, every town and every city.
