The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: What Open Face Helmets Pinkbike's Editors Actually Wear
Spent today 2 hours fixing the face of just another mtb rider with an open face helmet. Pretty common here close to a popular trail network. Almost all of these injuries could be avoided by wearing a simple full face helmet. But hey, I don’t complain, that’s my job.

Berd Release 1400 Gram Enduro Ready String-Spoke Wheelset
I have Pirope spokes made of Dyneema on a set of high quality carbon rims (German made Lilienthal XT wheels). They ride very nice but the spokes are chipping as hell from whatever is coming at them on my Kenovo SL. I’m using permanently glue on lose fibers trying to prevent further splicing, at least for cosmetic reasons. No spoke broke so far but IDK how long the spokes gonna last. They definitely get damaged from rock strikes, although it appears that the damage remains mostly superficial.

Staff Rides: Henry Quinney's Transition Spire
I sold my Enduro frame (S4) after I got my Spire frame (XL) and switched over the parts. Spire climbs better and has more comfortable cockpit because of the steeper seat angle. Descending, it's at least on par with Enduro or maybe even slightly better. More fun in bike parks, though, because more poppy and jumps better. Both bikes with a Fox 38 with 180 mm travel and X2.
