Carbon vs Aluminum: Separating Environmental Fact From Fiction in the Frame Materials Debate
@polebicycles: I can assure you that our carbon tubes are produced using both decent wages and environmental standards. I just don't think you can simply say carbon is bad, aluminium isn't, there are clearly pluses and minuses to both. The last thing we want to do is produce frames that end up in landfill, hence why we design all our bikes to not suffer from fatigue even when subjected to DH loads, and offer a true lifetime warranty.

Ha ha, good question! The answer is twofold; firstly we have a great relationship with Renishaw (who make the machines), and secondly we sell direct to consumers and don't operate with the kind of big margins that the rest of the bike industry operates on.

We try not to give a max tyre size for a few reasons; firstly as I am sure you know tyre sizes vary massively from brand to brand, a 2.3" Schwalbe for example is bigger than a 2.5" Maxxis, secondly rim width makes a big difference, and finally the conditions that you ride in alter what you deem to be acceptable clearance, i.e. if you ride in mud then you'll want a lot more than someone who only ever rides on dusty trails. What we can tell you though is that at the point where your tyre is at its widest our narrowest point is 78mm...which is a lot more than most!
