We already have adjustable frame stiffness and we call it "suspension".

There is no reason to have bikes with higher stack (i.e., longer head tubes) than necessary to have the frame stiffness required. I would guess frame designers make the head tube a bit longer on larger sizes for aesthetics. But, handling-wise, nothing changes if you reduce the head tube length by a cm and add a cm spacer under the stem. So, why limit potential customers' cockpit setups by making head tubes unnecessarily long?

Real. As in, a real bike.

I found an unsealed ceramic-bearing pulley wheel on Amazon once for ~$15 or so. It was great. Super low-drag, and to clean it you just took it off, hosed out the bearing, and put it back. Unfortunately it got bashed into a rock and bent the pulley wheel itself.

A selling point is that all the bikes have height-adjustable seat posts, eh?

A guy I trail ride with has a DHRII worn down to roughly semi-slick level of knobs. So he has the optimum mix of characteristics: downhill weight and XC traction.

@andrewbikeguide: I only have three bikes, but I definitely have more than a year's supply with just the tires that are on the bikes.
