Ratio Technology Tease Direct Mount Derailleur Conversion
Once, while riding, a rear spoke broke and then the broken end jammed into the der. cage. That ripped the der. off and carried it all the way around, passing inside of the seatstay and jamming against the chainstay. Once, something hit the der. while climbing and jammed the chain between the big cog and the spokes. Same result, ripped the der. off and carried it around. Any mounting system has to be capable of tolerating your derailleur getting locked to your rear wheel without destroying your frame or axle. If this does that, OK. If not, forget it. The der. didn't survive either of those. I don't see the replaceable hanger as der. protection, I see it as frame protection.

"The system has been tested on downhill bikes, and even saw action at the Fort William World Cup under Mark Wallace, though only in practice. " LOL.

BMC's All-New Fourstroke Has a Self-Dropping 'Automatic' Seatpost
I'm half-inclined to support the UCI passing a rule saying "no stored energy is allowed on race bikes". Of course, that would eliminate electronic shifting as well. But, it is a bit weird to have batteries and pressure vessels to store energy for shifter actuation, dropper actuation, and dropper movement. On the other hand, as a guy who has never had electronic shifting, it sure seems like the reduced maintenance might be worth a lot to me. So, a rule against electronic shifting may be bad for participation by weekend warriors in races.

Electric-Powered Weirdness from Eurobike 2022
On the last bike, I want to know what is the purpose of the lever that the front tire presses when the front suspension compresses. Could be clever.

Knolly Shows Off Prototypes for Future Bikes - Eurobike 2022
@davemays: Yes it is a very strange design choice. They could have put a structural member from the chainstay pivot up to the aft lower seattube pivot, and it would have been lighter and stronger than that bent aluminum sheed welded in there.
