I remember racing Snowshoe in the mid 2000s and multiple people spraining their ankles trying to walk their bikes through the rock gardens. It’s hard to overstate how gnarly that place is.

Results: Leadville Trail 100 MTB Race
@jollyjared: Yoann Barelli rode A-Line on a cyclocross bike, is that not a mountain bike trail? Pros are just so much more capable than average riders (or even average racers). Leadville’s not a typical race but most of the non-pros are still on dual sus XC bikes and grateful for the suspension.

@Law-MTB: it’ll be really interesting to see MVDP vs. Pidcock on that steep climb. Have to think that’s the crux of the race and favors Pidcock.

Results: USAC XC National Championships 2023
Lots of the fast guys (Keegan, Payson) chose to go do the Crusher in the Tushar this weekend that is part of the Lifetime Grandprix. After years (decades) of neglect by USA Cycling, the money funneled to gravel vs. mountain bike racing and the top talent has as well.

@canned-slammin: I think you mean Bentonville, mountain bike capital of the universe. That's where the real OGs ride. Such an organic, homegrown, grassroots culture there. Not forced at all unlike Bellingham or Pisgah where no one actually likes to ride their bikes. New riders- to Arkansas!
