@G-Sport: True, maybe they won’t see that high over of pressure events. I’m just thinking when you hit a square edge rock hard, there’s alot of displacement. Yes, the tire will stretch to absorb some of it, but I have to imagine there’s a pressure spike as well.

Just noting it’s an imbalance, may be negligible for some but others might care depending on the riding, such as road.
Think of how much a tire compresses during a ride. A cheap sensor like that is frequently going to see pressures outside its range which will decrease the accuracy. Where do you get 5%? If I pinch flat at 30 psi that’s more than 5% of the volume being displaced.

Mech E. here that works for a company that makes extremely precise pressure sensors - any sort of pressure sensor that can mount to a wheel will
1. Add some level of imbalance
2. Be exposed to extremely high overpressures, which will reduce the accuracy of the sensor over time. Because it would need to be such a small/light/cheap sensor, it’s likely it would be out of range after 1 ride.
Whatever company is looking into this, you can close the business case for this one.
