Adolf Silva Confirms Serious Spinal Injury After Rampage Finals Crash - Fundraiser Launched
@schili: imagine special Rampage insurance, so during preparation and event there were 3 serious injuries and several smaller. And something like this happens every year. So if I understand correctly, all riders (or their sponsors) would pay insurance company overall price that would cover treatment and rehabilitation of that 3 big injuries, few smaller and leave some profit to company. Assuming there are 18 riders, 3 got seriously hurt, so profitable insurance would be like 20-30% of serios injury financial cost. Maybe I'm totally wrong somewhere but looks generally reasonable.

Adolf Silva Confirms Serious Spinal Injury After Rampage Finals Crash - Fundraiser Launched
So sad! Hope recovery is possible! As people say, no one actually push riders for such risk, but additional organizational measures to lower risk are possible, I think. Like setting one more day between preparation and event for testing most dangerous moves and making decision, with safety equipment like inflatabe mats and safety nets installed on few most dangerous features. If rider lands it and confident to repeat in full run, ok, if not - just focus execution and fluidity of other moves. The concept that riders often go for untested stuff on event day with all that stress is very big risk by design, splitting decision and executing for different acts may help to reduce risk I think.

Emil Johansson Shares Injury Update After Being Airlifted During Finals at Red Bull Rampage 2025
@nateolmsted: @Axl085: Generally riders are trying to calculate the risk pretty good, but some moments like Silva's double flip attempt, it instantly looked like he should not do that. IIRC no one ever did doubleflip on feature close to that drop. TVS for example did a lot of garadually progressing frontflips before that biggest one. Emil's and Tommy's drop was also was ultra sketchy. Maybe the reasonable point is somewhere here - the most dangerous moves should be first tested and verified as doable with additional safety measures on the place before event. So there should be more time for testing and preparing for sure.

Video: Top 3 Run from Red Bull Rampage 2025 (Spoilers)
I do really like Tom Isted's style and some uinique ideas, they stands out for me (sharkfin feature is so good!), but in comparison to winning run I understand judges - top Zablotniy's top section had more going on and there was weird mid section in Isted's run that he first missed, but there wasn't much happening in second run (Lemoine did manual in same place if i understand correctly). So maybe it's actually not only about riding, but also overall line. Still he got to top 10 so let's see next year.

Red Bull Rampage 2025 Women's Final Results
I guess to go through first years of making Formation and female Rampage is also big courage and strength both for riders and orgs as riding this lines. This year shows it all worth it. Among some riding girls I know, it was Rampage that inspired them to go from casual bike riding into real trail riding, and seeing it as official event for women also is amazing. I'd say it has even more potential then racing sports for bringing more girls into mountain biking, as objective biological difference doesn't matter that much in freeride where lines, personal style and creativity matters more then any absolute measurements. (speaking of absolute measurements some of these drops and chutes are already same scale as in men's Rampage runs).
