@Smailen: Hey, you are right about that, went a bit too fast on that assumption. Perhaps the shape interfaces with the moving stanchion and "farts" inside your fork? Some kind of (english word elludes me) throttling or bleeding valve action there?

You need to consider the type of rubber and the visco-elastic properties along with that specific rubber. It will dampen the fluid flow to some extend.
