Mar 18, 2025Giant Revolt Advanced 2 Medium
$1700 GBPUsed approx 12 times on the road. No actual Gravel or off road. Immaculate. Other than a small slight scratch to top tube where my daughter nudged it into the brick edge when we were photographing it (Yes I remained calm). Bought in 2023 as a training option for mtb. It is an amazing bike. I live next to Epping forest and also bought a 29er Hardtail for same reason. Ended up using the cheaper hardtail as I felt less precious about it. So this sits and mopes in the shed. WHile it's still basically the current model I decided to sell. This actuall won 'Road Bike of the Year' 2022. Even though its a gravel bike. Put some slicks on and it rides like a fast endurance Road bike. The wheels are even less used than the bike, as I did exactly that and used other wheels with slicks. Bought at RRP £2599.

Pinkbike Poll: Who are the Unofficial Red Bull Rampage Pinkbike's Choice Winners?
Brendog... Godzy.... Vs Semanuk etc ? Why has it come to this? A structured conversation would be really useful. What is Rampage? Is it just Promo for MTB? In that case ok, who cares who wins, as everyone does. But there is more. There is a need to encourage and engage with a community of real world riders. The reason so many people relate to Brendan and his dig team, is that they are like normal MTBers.... just exceptionally talented. Slopestyle is not really MTB in that sense. It doesn't relate to what happens at Bike Parks and trails across the world. It's a tiny tiny proportion of the bike community. Whereas Brendan represents us all. With his pals, he visions, digs, and then rides. He does it the way we all wish we could. But he does it the style we do it. Lad Science. I could watch that process endlessly. But I have little interest in watching perfectly sculpted jumps having masculine bike ballet performed over them. And I think that's the point. We need Rampage. But we need it to be more real. IMO - Just force everyone to start their dig lines from scratch and absolutely no more than one shared feature... and if it ios shared... mark it down a touch.

Aug 30, 2024Planet X RT80 56" Full Carbon F&F Hope/Campag
$400 GBPPlanet X RT80 - Full Carbon endurance road bike. Bought new by me in 2016 as a training bike. Such a great Bike. Bought as a frame & fork and added a Campag Groupset of Athena/Veloce. Hope hubs on Open Pro rims. Schwalbe Durano 25c. Well looked after. I was about to replace the BB bearings, I have the new Campag bearings and some other spares like a Campag headset.
Haven't used in 4 years or so as I ride MTB. Size is a 56 which by PX charts was 5ft 9" - 6ft 2"... I think? I am 5ft 10". I prefer not to be cramped on a road bike. Lovely bike. Straight forward performance. No gimmicks. Far nicer than a load of other stuff I have ridden. But I just have too many bikes. And I mostly ride MTB in the local forest, or a gravel/hybrid .. So it doesn't get a look in.

Pinkbike Poll: Has Your Opinion On These Products Changed?
Exactly.... In the current format, you could have people with completely opposing views, ticking the same box. I was fascinated to read the article at first, after once reading a similar poll on Singletrack, which was asking which bits of tech progress would you never surrender. What was interesting, is how people perceived things like suspension as having aided everyone in getting to a certain level of riding, but it's wide bars and a dropper post that now allow us to ride that way...
