Life Time Bans Drop Bars from the Leadville Trail 100 & Little Sugar MTB Races
@dcaf: Fair point. I still think the best way to address safety concerns would be to have pros and amateurs start on different days, but I suppose this change should make things safer as well. I’m mainly just salty we won’t get to see all the wacky bike setups lol

Life Time Bans Drop Bars from the Leadville Trail 100 & Little Sugar MTB Races
@dcaf: I just can’t for the life of me think of a reason why the GP would want to level the playing field between pros and amateurs though. Feels like they should be widening the divide imo. Pros are pros for a reason after all.

Life Time Bans Drop Bars from the Leadville Trail 100 & Little Sugar MTB Races
Doesn’t make sense imo, especially for a race like Leadville. To me, one of the things that makes the GP interesting is the innovation you see in bike setups. Riders attempting to squeeze every ounce of performance out their rigs by experimenting with bar type, aero-everything, tire width, etc. is part of what makes (or made) the GP the GP. Things become a bit stale if all riders do the same things all the time and never try anything new, as we’ve seen with some other disciplines. A ban on drop bars, even if just for a few courses, undermines this, I think. Interested to hear how the riders feel.

Ibis Announces New Ripmo AF & Ripley AF Complete Bikes
Am I the only one who misses the old toptube? These are fine looking bikes with some great features, but the old models had a unique charm about them imo

Video: Friday Fails #273
@ncrider5: Had to be with how easily it came apart. Just another reminder to never skip the pre-ride inspection lol
