First Ride: The 2024 Pivot Switchblade Gets Updated, Not Overhauled
I'm sure they ride incredibly well, but they just have features I can't get past.
Their STA numbers are always on the low side,
Chain stays are too short (that size specific detail they have is nonsense). Maybe DW Link doesn't work so well with long chain stays, Ibis are super short too.
And the Press Fit BB and SB rear are the final turnoffs.
Middle sizing must be ace to ride. XL is to unbalanced for me to consider buying one.

Opinion: Do We Need Size-Specific Chainstays?
Absolutely yes, make the rear centre ratio more consistent, but it's personal preference and can be taken too far.
At 1.93m tall I prefer a longer rear but have also enjoyed bikes with a short rear end.
I do find the ~2mm difference per size by some brands to be a token / joke effort, but I'm not a bike designer or engineer so what do I know.
STA , stack, ETT all play into it too.

First Ride: 2024 Trek Slash
@danctm: same with me and the Highlander. The rear still looks like a bike without the somewhat clumsy looking rears of some high pivot bikes.

First Ride: 2024 Trek Slash
@Snowsed341:
Absolutely agree, there's no reason why a HP bike needs to have that clumsy looking rear end. Deviate and Norco to a far better job as you've stated.

Review: Fox Float X2 - Shock Week 2023
Straight to the comments for this one.
Feels amazing when it works. That sensation lasts a very short time.
You need.
1 a spare shock you rotate as warranty service is done.
2. A spare bike for the same reason.
3. Lots of patience to endure 1&2
4. No desire for a problem free life.
No amount of money would make me run one again.
The shock failed out of the box on a brand new frame. Every "fix" didn't work, the replacement didn't work, every fix on the replacement didn't work.
I probably got 3 rides from one tops before losing air and it squelching.
Replaced again and lost patience with it.
How a class action lawsuit hasn't started yet I don't know.
Sure, the 2024 model is to be trusted. Never again.

First Ride: Ibis HD6 - Mixed Wheels & More Travel
Looks very good.
Geo for the larger sizes is not for me, and why is the seat tube measured in inches when everything else is in mm?
Head tube is crazy short, and agree it needs the full 29" option.
The short rear centre makes me wonder if DW LINK bikes don't run well with longer rear centres? Even Pivot size specific rear centres are still comparatively short.

Review: 2023 Yeti SB135
I'm just happy to see a test rider call out some meaningful deficiencies in the bike and be taller than average.
Personally, I like the look of Yeti bikes but I find their geo to not suit my preferences. I'm tall so the shorter rear ends and low stack turn me to other options.

Review: Deviate Highlander 2 - A Better Sequel
@deviatecycles: I can confirm this is correct.
The V1 I still own and love doesn't catch or risk stones and debris getting stuck between the frame or link.
The Forbidden V1 Druid and current Dreadnought would do that which is why they came with moto foam / sponge to slide into the entry point and the winter fender.
Still managed to get stones in there which can damage the paint or frame if you're unlucky.
