Each year, thousands of mountain bikers travel from far and wide to reach the mountain biking mecca, Whistler, BC. Some make the last-minute choice and hop on the next plane out of Australia. Others plan their trip for years. It's not easy to survive in such a place. Hard-earned money constantly flows from your pockets to fuel the lifestyle you crave. At the end of the day, a quick scan of your surroundings will assure you it's worth it.

Riding top of the world trail in whistler bike park.

Tom and I started planning a video early July, shortly after I had arrived. The wait began for both my rotator cuff injury to heal, and for a change in weather from the smoking hot, sunny days. Eventually we grew impatient and jumped on the first somewhat cloudy day. The weather shifted between sun and light cloud for a few days until finishing our shoot during an evening thunderstorm. We wanted to do something somewhat unique with the intro. Three hours of BBC Planet Earth clips later, and I had complied some appropriate samples.

rode every bike model garbonzo demo center had over 4 days. the Norco Aurum LE was by far my favorite bike. had a chance to ride multiple bikes in the same day- V10 , Wilson, Gambler, Glory etc.- the Aurum was by far the most playful, and the fastest out of them all. i felt like it had been specifically engineered for Whistler. it is literally f-ed up how brilliant a bike it is. stupid good.

really? each to their own I guess. While my demo was broken I rented a few from GBB and just fell in love with the V10. I can barely look at my Demo any more though, I feel i've cheated on it.

It really is all personal preference, as a race bike no doubt the V10 is better, but on whistler trails, I much prefer a Demo to a V10.

just did the same a couple weekends ago. hated the Wilson for some reason but liked both the glory and flatliner. didn't get a chance to ride the Norco though - but borrowed a friends older one for a couple runs and really liked it

Whoo hooo! Fast and loose. Sick video. Nice use of the introduction with that Attenborough cat, and working in the soundtrack to 'Sunshine'...it gets heavy rotation for trailers, but only because its awesome.

I like the fact that I have hit many of the same lines, but at like 1/4 the speed. Means that I have lots of time I can spend in Whistler and never get bored.

If he does that all season then his rear wheel is going to be slachered beyond belief
  • 1 0
The only time I've ever replaced a wheel was on my very first mountain bike. Trying to learn 180's. Otherwise, my bikes finish the season with true wheels.
